What They’re Saying:

Roman visits our firm every two to three years providing vision, insight, best practices and validation concerning our technology initiatives. He provides Accounting and CPA Firms across the country with a vision of their future technology initiatives, maps out best practices, gives insight on where the Accounting Software vendors are moving and offers validation of IT expenditures to the Firm’s management. We have found Roman’s advice to always be very beneficial to our Firm and that is why we continuously ask him to return.
-Theresa Stearns, Technology Director-Anders Minkler & Diehl, LLP

“We found your knowledge about CPA firms a great help in analyzing our systems and practices.  Your ability to give us immediate input on “best practices” really makes our decision making easier on implementation of new technologies in our practice and on affirmation that we have made some good decisions on our current systems.   You also gave us valuable input in areas that we had not yet addressed.  We more than earned back your fee in implementing some of your recommendations and by providing us information that would have taken significant amount of time for us to research.”
-Mike McGuigan, Shareholder-Elliott Davis

"Roman Kepczyk played an integral role in helping Beach Fleischman PC develop a comprehensive, cost effective information technology strategic plan.  His ExSTRM Review and presentation to our management team identified areas of improvement, provided cost effective suggestions and recommendations for improved efficiencies in the areas of data security, software, hardware and IT staffing.  His unbiased expertise helped us enhance our information technology infrastructure."
-
Lori Niederlehner, Firm Administrator-Beach, Fleischman & Co.

"Roman, on behalf of all of us here at Greenwalt Sponsel & Co., Inc., I want to thank you for the time you spent with each of us in reviewing our technology infrastructure and how we are using our technology.  We have long felt that we were early adapters, but it was very helpful to have you come in and reaffirm that we are on the right track, as well as identify several areas where we might want to tweak our procedures, particularly in the area of security.  You have given us a number of ideas to consider and we have been working through that list.  Thanks again for a great job.  Rich (our computer guy) really appreciated the time you spent with him.  We feel the review was conducted very well and that your written report is invaluable to us."
-Larry Greenwalt, Partner, Greenwalt Sponsel & Company

"You were my first initiative in my new role as Director of Firm Administration here….and you hit it out of the park.  As I knew you would.  You successfully bridged the gap between tech and CPA in a way that brought the prospective of the profession into view.  Everyone is extremely happy with the results. Great job....thanks again."
-William R. Pirolli, CPA Partner, DiSanto, Priest & Company

"Roman’s ExSTRM (Executive Strategic Technology Resource Management) Review provided us with valuable analysis of our current situation and challenged us with several high priority items to be addressed prior to the 2003 busy season as well as providing a blueprint for further improvements to infrastructure and processes for the upcoming year. Roman’s experience with the CPA industry’s best practices in both the technology arena and general office procedures was very evident during the numerous meetings with personnel from the various practice segments of the firm. We were impressed with Roman’s ability to provide valuable insight in response to questions from varying levels of professional and administrative staff.

Roman’s ExSTRM (Executive Strategic Technology Resource Management) Review provided us with valuable analysis of our current situation and challenged us with several high priority items to be addressed prior to the 2003 busy season as well as providing a blueprint for further improvements to infrastructure and processes for the upcoming year.

The partners committed the necessary funding to accomplish his high priority tasks and thus far we have realized a high degree of efficiency and stability with the upgraded systems. As a result of the improved speed and stability I have received comments such as "improved quality of life" and "much less frustration and stress".

Dear Sir or Madam:

We were introduced to Roman Kepczyk at an IA International conference in 2001 and were impressed with the breadth of his accounting/technology knowledge and extensive first hand experience within our industry. In August 2001, we engaged InfoTech Partners North America, Inc. to help us evaluate our technology infrastructure and make future hardware and software recommendations. After a very thorough interview process, in which he analyzed our tax, client services, and administrative departments, he met with our technology team and succinctly explained where the biggest opportunities for improvement within the firm were and where we could improve our existing technology utilization. Two days after his visit, he followed up by providing us a comprehensive written report, which included his recommendations and resources for implementing them. In addition to giving us specific technology recommendations, he explained to us how we could improve utilization of our existing software and provided us assurance in the areas where we had made good decisions. We have been working on implementing his numerous recommendations and feel his direction has resulted in a significant return on our technology investment. We would highly recommend Roman without any hesitation.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding Roman and the benefits of the services he has provided to our Firm. Very truly yours,

Coradino Hickey and Hanson

To whom it may concern:

For quite some time I have been searching for a company to help me evaluate various aspects of our technology. My search ended when I met Roman Kepczyk and InfoTech Partners.

Major reasons for selecting InfoTech Partners included:
* Having a consultant that had worked in public accounting for several years.
*Having a consultant that had worked with public accounting firms for several years.
*Broad base of knowledge as to what is happening now, what is on the horizon that can/will benefit a public accounting firm.
*Ability to communicate at a level that our team members can understand.
*Tells you the good and bad.
*Ability not only to make a recommendation, but to also give facts to back-up recommendations.
*Cost-best I found.

I asked InfoTech to evaluate:
*Current information technology infrastructure and direction.
*Communication infrastructure and remote access.
*Team member capabilities to support and build infrastructure and direction.
*Department technology processes and procedures.

As a result of the above,
*Our firm better understands our technology strengths and weaknesses.
*What is on the horizon that we must prepare for.
*We were able to implement action plans to resolve problems and to pursue options that we were not aware of.

The report that InfoTech Partners issued was very comprehensive and clear in its presentation.  The results of the review far exceeded the time (we did it during tax season) and money that we invested.  In closing, if you are considering a comprehensive review of your current technology, I recommend you consider InfoTech Partners.  You will not be disappointed.

To Whom It May Concern:

Re: Roman Kepczyk

We have had the privilege of working with Roman Kepczyk for the past three years.  We engaged Roman and Boomer Consulting to help guide our Firm through significant technology changes and upgrades.  When we began working with Roman, we had a peer-to-peer network, no email system and limited individual PC usage; thus we needed solid direction and a plan for improving our technological capabilities.

With Roman’s guidance, we have evolved to become a very technologically advanced CPA firm.  In each step of the planning and budgeting process Roman has assisted us in focusing on our needs from both a software and hardware aspect and has also aided us in recognizing the economic impact of our decisions.  He has kept us abreast of the current trends in the CPA community as well as trends on the horizon.  Under Roman’s direction, we have been able to develop a much more sophisticated internal technology structure which has enabled us to take full advantage of the efficiencies available through proper use of software and hardware.

Throughout the past three years, Roman has earned and maintained our confidence as a trusted advisor.  He has always been responsive to our questions and concerns, and has worked diligently to keep us apprised of the current trends in technology.  We have found his responses to always be relevant and timely to the needs at hand as well as considerate of requirements for future growth and expansion.

We would be pleased to visit with you should you have additional questions regarding Roman and the benefits of the services he provides.

Yours very truly,

To Whom It May Concern:

After attending a management summit conference in November of 1996, we decided to engage the services of Boomer Consulting to help us get on top of our Technology Planning activities.  We have been working with Roman Kepczyk and Boomer Consulting for the past three years with a focus on increasing productivity through the planning and budgeting process.  His guidance has resulted in a significant return on our technology investment.

Although Roman has recently formed his own business, we are continuing our relationship as he has been very effective in educating our partners and staff on current technology issues; creating a long term vision of the direction the firm needed to go technologically; and helping us understand our options.  He has also helped us decide on the best course for the firm based on his knowledge of what is happening within the CPA industry on a national level as he has accounting industry insight and access to accounting technology resources.  He has helped us write a comprehensive three-year technology plan and budget with annual updates and state of the industry messages.  He is easy to work with and available when we have questions about hardware and software issues.

With Roman's guidance, we have evolved to become a very technologically  advanced CPA firm.  In each step of the planning and budgeting process Roman has assisted us in focusing on our needs from both a software and hardware aspect and has also aided us in recognizing the economic impact of our decisions.  He has kept us abreast of the current trends in the CPA community as well as trends on the horizon.  Under Roman's direction, we have been able to develop a much more sophisticated internal technology structure which has enabled us to take full advantage of the efficiencies available through proper use of software and hardware.

We would be pleased to talk with you should you have additional questions regarding Roman and the benefits of the services he provides.

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to serve as a letter of recommendation for Roman Kepczyk.

Roman came to Central Illinois and completed an external and internal analysis of our technology practice.  His experience in the "real-world" of CPA firms helped him analyze our firm and pull our set strategic goals together.  In Roman's analysis and final report, he became our technology partner and gave us his candid viewpoint.  He made helpful suggestions to not "re-invent the wheel" and how to set up "cookie cutter" options for the technology practice.

With Roman's unique ability to explain, the non technical partners understood his recommendations and their reasons.  We are not a firm that brings in outside consultants very often; therefore, there was some skepticism before we started the process.  After Roman's presentation to the Partner Management Committee and myself, positive appraisal was voiced throughout the committee.  Also, roman was a pleasure to be with during his interviewing, analysis and just sharing of his real-world experiences.

I highly recommend Roman Kepczyk as a consultant to be a "technology partner" for your firm.

Sincerely,

Securing Technical Savvy
DBMD believes that leading edge technology is imperative in today's market and as a result, they constantly seek to update technical aspects and applications once proven to have the ability to increase efficiency and productivity. The firm has a relationship with Info Tech Partners who assist and consult with them in making technical decisions, not only for themselves but also for their clients. "We don't know everything there is to know about technology," says Bolton, "so we go out and secure that knowledge. Info Tech gives us that expertise." The relationship with Info Tech began as an internal consulting engagement to provide a second opinion on the firm's technological direction. Info Tech confirmed the firm's technological initiatives, leading to the installation of a Citrix server "farm" and a change in its practice management software. DBMD is also fortunate to have partner Michael Kridel, who was recently appointed to the AICPA's Top Technologies Task Force.

Dear Roman:

We would like to thank you for the consulting services you provided to our firm.  We feel the services we received were tailored to our needs.  We found the offsite review to be very effective and feel you did a wonderful job assessing our firm’s technology strengths and weaknesses.

We have followed many the recommendations made in the final report and feel they are proving to be beneficial to us as we are entering busy season.

Also, we very much appreciate the continued support you have provided to our firm beyond the initial consultation. In a firm our size it means so much to have a person who you can “bounce ideas off”.   We truly feel as if you are now part of our team helping us to succeed in the accounting profession.

We look forward to a lasting relationship and will continue to look to your firm as a superior resource for information technology in the accounting profession.

To Whom It May Concern:

Over the past fifteen years of providing continuing professional education sessions to CPAs, I can unequivocally state that among the hundreds of presenters we have hired, few have been as consistently informative, enlightening and highly rated as Roman Kepczyk.

Roman’s practical approach and entertaining style have always resulted in very complimentary reviews by the participants in his seminars. As a CPE provider, my success is more assured with the knowledge that Roman’s professionalism and communication ability is of such high quality. That is very important to me and to anyone who hires a presenter for a seminar.

We have hired many technology presenters over the years. Roman stands out from the rest as having an exceptional ability to relate equally as well to technology professionals as he does to non-technology professionals. In all cases, he can effectively translate the nuances of today’s complex technological issues into no-nonsense business issues which make sense. These presentation skills are unique among today’s technology consultants, and are very refreshing to busy professionals who need to know quickly what critical issues exist and how they affect their business.

Roman’s real-world experience as a partner in a CPA firm, combined with his knowledge and passion for the technological wave that is hitting the professional services environment consistently provides for a credible and effective presentation to all audiences.

I would recommend Roman without hesitation to any organization that needs to train their members on technology matters.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter serves as a letter of recommendation for Roman Kepczyk.

Polaris International is an association of approximately 70 small to medium-sized public accounting firms located throughout North America. Roman has worked with our association several times in the past few years as a presenter and a consultant. I have been very satisfied with the quality of Roman’s work and would definitely use his services again.

Roman has given full day presentations to the managing partners (audience approximately 100) and the consulting partners (audience approximately 30) from the firms in our association. These presentations have received extremely high evaluations from the participants. Roman has excellent presentation skills, but more importantly, the content of his discussion has proven to be very applicable and useful for the members of the audience.

In addition, dealing with Roman has been a pleasure. He is very professional, always following up and always meeting due dates. I have found him to be very responsive and customer focused.

Roman is an expert in technology. I have referred several of our member firms to Roman for assistance, and I have confidence in these referrals.

I recommend Roman Kepczyk, both as a presenter and a consultant in the area of technology.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

We have worked with Roman H. Kepczyk twice in the past year to present programs and have been very please with the experience. Roman presented a Technology Update to our Managing Partners in Phoenix, Arizona in June of 1998 and received outstanding remarks for his program. Because of this, we engaged him to develop a custom program for our Annual Tax Committee, which he tailored specifically to our requirements. Again, his ratings were exceptional. Roman has the unique ability to explain technical topics in laymen’s terms and the experience to provide real-world examples of applications. Combined with his entertaining presentation style, you have a winning educational experience. I would recommend Roman to any firm that needs assistance in technology matters.
